All parking on the University of Tennessee campus is by football parking permit only.

Campus areas are reserved for athletic and alumni donors and donor permits. For those parking @ Stepehenson Dr, Ag Campus, UT Visitor Center & Kingston Pike there are fare-free shuttles:

Football shuttles on campus begins three hours prior to kickoff return starting half time

  • Stephenson Dr/Area 14 – Unload and pick up on Chamique Holdsclaw Dr.
  • Ag Campus – Fare-free. Public accessible/handicapped parking available first come-first served. No charge w/valid accessible/handicapped placard or license plate.
    When full, advise that Civic Coliseum garage is another accessible parking and shuttle option- $10 parking & $6 shuttle fees.
  • UT Visitor Ctr & Kingston Pike Bldg—Unload and pick up at Circle Park.

There is no general public parking on campus.

 

Accessible Parking d9-6

Accessible parking with shuttle service is available on the Agriculture Campus.  For information regarding accessible parking, contact Parking and Transit Services at 865-974-6031.

The accessible parking on the Ag Campus is first-come, first-served.  There are approximately 150 spaces.  A football parking pass is not required; however, a valid accessible parking placard or license plate is required.

The Civic Coliseum provides accessible parking and shuttle to Gate 21. There is a fee for the parking and shuttle service from the Coliseum. Visit Civic Coliseum Parking.

 

Public Parking Options:

  • Downtown-Civic Coliseum Garage—$10
  • Downtown– Poplar St lot —$30
  • Downtown garages -$20 – Main St, Dwight Kessel, City County Bldg, and Locust St

Faculty, staff, and students attending the game are encouraged to use alternative parking and transportation options due to football permit-only parking on campus.
(Faculty with current valid permit who are required to work – see section below)

Note: Reminder parking at local hospitals is for employees and hospital visitors only. There is NO gameday parking at these locations.

Public Transit to the Game

Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) provides an easy way to attend University of Tennessee Football games – let them do the driving. No worry about parking, where is a lot, and when are you going to get there. Hop on a bus, get off at campus, and get back on at the end of the game. Let someone else battle the traffic AND SAVE MONEY.

Five Routes are available during the regular season and specific one pagers are created to provide you with the information coming from these directions, North, East, South, West, and Northwest.

Traffic Information

For information on statewide interstate construction, motorists can access the Tennessee Department of Transportation SmartWay website.  For up to the minute traffic information in Knoxville, follow TDOT on Twitter.

RV Parking

RV parking on campus is reserved for University donors and a permit is required.  There is no general public RV parking on the campus; however, the Civic Coliseum has spaces on a first-come basis:

Civic Coliseum in downtown Knoxville can accommodate a limited number of RVs ($35 with no hookups). Reserve your space in advance at 865-215-8900.

 

Faculty/Staff Game Day Parking
The following parking areas will be designated for faculty and staff who are scheduled to work on football Saturdays:

Staff 12—North Side of Hoskins Library

Staff 20 & RecSports Parking Area—East Side of Aquatic Center

Staff 7 —12th and White—North of Jessie Harris Building – Across from the Early Learning Center

Staff 40 – Kingston Pike Building

These lots will be staffed and a regular staff parking permit will be required.  The lots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. On occasion, some of these areas may not be available due to prearranged activities on campus. During the season, special announcements will be made through the media concerning specific game day arrangements and scheduled lot access.

Please note: the 11th Street Garage is reserved for individuals with football parking permits on gameday Saturdays and is not available for staff parking.

Students Parking on Game Day
There is NO parking for undergraduate or graduate commuter students on gamedays.

We recommend:

  1. Have someone drop you off and pick you up.
  2. Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) buses serve a wide range of the Knoxville area -(see list above)
  3. Market Square and State Street garages downtown Knoxville have free parking if you arrive early.
  4. Neighborhood parking is an option, but many places charge for parking on gamedays.

 

 

UT Vehicles
Please remove all UT vehicles that are parked in areas designated for football permit parking. This must be done the night before the game. Vehicles remaining in assigned football parking areas on football Saturdays are subject to towing.

Game day information 

On-Campus Parking

On weekdays, the majority of parking on campus requires a basketball parking permit beginning at 4:00pm.* On weekends, the same is true but times will vary depending on the tip-off time for the game.

Public Parking
Free public parking with shuttle service is available at the UT Agriculture Campus. Spaces are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Shuttles begin 2 hours before tip-off.

Accessible Parking d9-6
Accessible parking with fully accessible shuttles is available on the UT Agriculture Campus. Spaces are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Shuttles begin two hours before tip-off. For more information, please contact us at 865-974-6031.

Students Attending Class During Weekday Games
The following parking areas will be designated for students with a valid parking permit (C-Commuter, N-Non Commuter, T-Evening School, GS-Sorority, and GF-Fraternity) who are attending class on weekdays during basketball games:

Faculty/Staff Working During Weekday Games

Baseball

On Fridays after 5:00 p.m. and weekends, the general public is suggested to use available parking in the administrative garage along Lake Loudoun Boulevard or G16 the new Volunteer Blvd garage next to the recently opened Stokely Family Residence Hall.

Game day information

Concerts

Welcome concert attendee, here is the information for parking. Parking on the University of Tennessee campus is paid permit parking.

General concert parking is $10
Some events offer premium parking

Staff and Commuter lots located in the vicinity of the arena will convert to concert/event parking at 4 pm or 3 1/2 hours prior to the event

Primary lots used for these events:

G4, G3, G5/30, G10, S23, 9A, C8, and the new garage G16 at the corner of Volunteer Blvd and Pat Head Summit
Other lots may be utilized depending on ticket sales

The UT Parking and Transit Services Office wants your event, meeting or activity on campus to be a success. Appropriate parking permits and/or authorizations are required to use campus parking areas. We can help you keep your focus on your event when you involve Parking Services early in your planning process. Our knowledgeable staff will work closely with you to provide convenient and flexible parking while ensuring minimal impact to faculty, staff, and student permit holders.

To request special parking, please complete the Special Parking Request Form. We can even arrange for you to use T buses and vans to support your event.
