New for the 2024-25 academic year, UT will offer a Park & Ride permit at the discounted rate of $99 per year to faculty, staff, and commuting students. Faculty and staff are invited to a preview day for employees on Thursday, July 11 to try this option before employee permits go on sale July 15. The preview event will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. with buses departing from Gate 21 of Neyland Stadium. All preview day attendees will receive a voucher for free ice cream at the UT Creamery and a VolShop coupon.
UT’s Park & Ride permits will utilize Lot B at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum on weekdays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The lot will be serviced by a dedicated T shuttle, with buses running every 10 minutes to bring permit holders to the campus transfer point at Gate 21 of Neyland Stadium.
Park & Ride permits are being offered as part of an effort to transform UT’s parking and transportation network and improve the on-campus experience for students and staff by reducing competition for parking spaces, providing more predictability in the commute experience, and enhancing transportation options to ensure that arriving on and interacting with campus is more efficient.
