UT Parking and Transportation is pleased to announce the addition of more than 200 Commuter Core spaces in the White Avenue Garage.
The new Commuter Core spaces are located on the ramps between the second and third levels and were formerly allocated as Staff 12. The changes come following a campus-wide review of space occupancy.
“We’ve tried to be very intentional and transparent with the changes we’ve instituted this semester, and after seeing that this area was underutilized as staff parking, we acted quickly to reallocate it in order to help ease demand for student parking,” said Executive Director of Parking and Transportation Tanara Teal-Tate. “Our goal throughout this transformation has been to provide more efficiency and predictability when parking on campus, and this is just another step toward fine-tuning our new zonal system.”
In response to the increase in spaces, additional Commuter Core permits will be offered to waitlisted students. Invitations to purchase permits are non-transferable and will be sent based on the order in which waitlist requests were received. Acceptance deadlines and instructions for purchasing will be included in the email.
