Commencement / Graduation Parking
Helping you park, as it istime to celebrate
FREE parking is available for all graduates and their guests in student parking areas. (These are marked with NC for Non-commuter Core (residential) students and CC for Commuter Core students). Please do not park in S for Staff areas.
- G-10 Garage located next to Neyland Stadium (enter off Neyland Dr this year due to construction)
- CC6 across from the arena – enter from Lake Loudoun and G16 Volunteer Blvd garage – enter from Pat Head Summitt
Limited Mobility / Accessible Parking
We have set up the CC6 (Commuter Core) area for accessible and limited mobility parking for Commencement. Once guests have parked, they can proceed across the ramp to Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center.
Clear Bag Policy
The Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center reminds guests of the large-event security protocol that will be enforced at ceremonies. Guests may enter the arena with one clear plastic bag no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches.
The only other items ALLOWED in the arena:
- Small clutch purses no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches
- Mobile phones
- Binoculars, cameras, and video cameras (without cases)
- Diapers and non-medically necessary items for babies and young children (must be carried in a clear bag)
- Medically necessary items that must be carried in a specific bag, sized proportionately to its contents.
- Umbrella strollers
The following items are PROHIBITED inside the arena:
- Non-clear bags of any size
- Diaper bags
- Backpacks (of any size)
- Alcoholic beverages
- Cans, bottles, coolers
- Outside food, snacks, beverages
- Open umbrellas
- Selfie sticks
- Unmanned aircraft
- Large bags or parcels, including backpacks and purses
- Weapons, including pocket knives
- Hoverboards, Electric Scooters, Segways
- Artificial noisemakers
- Large travel strollers
Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is prohibited at all times.
