Home For The Holidays: Resources & Shuttles

No matter how you’re traveling for winter break, UT has resources available to help you get there safely and conveniently.

Airport Shuttles

The T currently offers two free McGhee Tyson Airport shuttles prior to and following major holidays or breaks. For winter break, shuttles will depart campus at 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, and return trips will be made at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18. Advance registration is required, and interested students should register online by Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 5 p.m.

Tune Up Your Sleigh

New for this year, Tune Up Your Sleigh is a free maintenance education event for students hosted by Fleet Management on Thursday, Dec. 4, at the UT Kingston Pike Building (2309 Kingston Pike). Certified mechanics will be on hand to walk students through how to properly prepare their vehicles for a road trip. Visual and auditory inspections will be conducted, and mechanics will provide assistance and recommendations. Additionally, a self-service cleaning area will be available for student use. There is no charge for this service, but students must register for a timeslot online.

UT To West Tennessee Initiative

In partnership with the Center for Basic Needs, the UT To West Tennessee Initiative provides safe and affordable charter bus transportation for students living in Nashville, Jackson, Memphis, or the surrounding areas during long breaks. The cost for this service is $55.00, and registration opens on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
