One parking ticket can be excused by donating five full-size non- perishable goods. This needs to be done within 13 days of the citation being issued.
Parking and Transit in collaboration with the Student Government Association (SGA) encourage students, staff, and faculty to “pay” for a citation by donating canned goods or other non-perishables. The donations are given to Smokey’s Pantry.
Which Tickets Can This Apply To?
Donations for Citations has two types of tickets that are eligible:
- No Permit
- Unauthorized Area

How Often Can I Use This?
You can use Donations for Citations once per fiscal year (effective July 1 – June 30) for qualifying tickets that individually amount to a $32.00 maximum.
Who Can Use This Program?
Eligible participants would be active students, faculty and staff listed in official UT Knoxville records (IRIS & Banner).
What Do I Donate?
For each qualifying ticket, you’ll donate 5 (five) full-sized, non-perishable items.
